Site constraints
- Four hours of direct sun at midsummer; deep shade the rest of the year.
- Drainage and utilities beneath the paving could not be relocated.
- Works limited to weekdays, with the yard back in use each Friday.
Design process
Raised steel planters sit on top of the existing slab so services stay accessible. We drew the seating layout around 18 covers and a clear fire-exit route, then phased construction into three weekday packages agreed with the owners.
